Hancher’s presentation of Los Angeles Guitar Quartet is sold out

The University of Iowa’s Hancher will present the Los Angeles Guitar Quartet on Tuesday, March 6, at 7:30 p.m. at the Coralville Center for the Performing Arts. The performance, which features four accomplished acoustic guitar players performing a range of musical styles, is sold out.

The performance is supported by the Hancher Partners and gifts to Hancher Circle through the University of Iowa Foundation.

Frontier foods focus of Old Capitol Museum’s ‘History Time’ March 10

The Old Capitol Museum at the University of Iowa will continue its "History Time" program at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, March 10, with readings related to pioneer foods. The free public program will be held in Old Capitol's Supreme Court Chamber.

Visitors will learn about the foods were eaten by early pioneers in Iowa, how food was preserved and prepared, and about daily life without modern conveniences. Readings by Old Capitol staff members will be followed by crafts and other activities for children ages 4 and up.

The Old Capitol Museum is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays; 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursdays; and 1 to 5 p.m. Sundays. The museum is closed Mondays and national holidays.

Registration open for youth spring break tennis camp

University of Iowa Recreational Services is offering a spring break tennis camp for children ages 6–16 from March 12–16. The camp will include stroke and strategy instruction, drills, and games, as well as a pizza party on the last day.

The fee is $130 for members and $140 for nonmembers.

Registration is available at the Hawkeye Tennis & Recreation Complex and the membership desks of the Campus Recreation & Wellness Center and Field House.
