UI Honor Choir features regional high school singers

The Honor Choir, featuring many of the best high school singers from the region, will be joined by the University of Iowa Kantorei and the University Choir in a free performance at 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 31, in the Main Lounge of the Iowa Memorial Union on the UI campus.

Under the direction of UI School of Music faculty members Timothy Stalter and David Puderbaugh, the Honor Choir will perform "The Heavens Are Telling" by Joseph Haydn, "Dixit Maria" by Hans Leo Hassler, the spiritual "Ain-a That Good News" arranged by William L. Dawson, the hymn "Consecrate This Place and Day" arranged by Lloyd A. Pfautsch and "Two Moves and a Slow Scat" by Dennis Kam.

The Honor Choir will include students from Clear Creek-Amana, Earlham, East Central, Hoover, Johnston, Mid-Prairie, Northeast, Panorama, Regina, Waco, Wapsie Valley, Washington and West Liberty high schools.
