UI to hold Student Job Fair Aug. 23
University of Iowa students interested in campus employment for the fall 2011 semester are invited to attend a Student Job Fair from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 23, in the Main Lounge of the Iowa Memorial Union.
The fair, sponsored by the UI Office of Student Financial Aid, will feature over 20 university and off-campus employers who qualify for work-study support based on their government or nonprofit status. These employers will offer on-campus, part-time hourly positions and work-study positions and a limited number of eligible nonprofit off-campus sites. More than 1,400 students attended the 2010 fair, and many received job offers or interviews that day.
Staff from the Office of Student Financial Aid will be available to answer questions regarding employment options, verify work-study eligibility and explain the payroll process.

UI Department of Theatre Arts holds auditions for fall productions
The University of Iowa Department of Theatre Arts will hold general auditions for a dozen productions and two readings Aug. 25-28 in Theatre B of the UI Theatre Building.
General auditions will be held 7-11 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 25 and 6-11 p.m. Friday, Aug. 26. Callbacks will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 27-28. The audition may be viewed by acting faculty; directors of the Mainstage, Gallery, Workshop and reading sessions; and members of the directing classes and the Iowa Playwrights Workshop.
No affiliation with the UI or the department is required. The audition period is three minutes and, each person auditioning should prepare one or two monologues.

Third annual Ponseti races set for October 1
The Third Annual Ponseti Clubfoot Races will be held on Saturday, Oct. 1, beginning at 9 a.m. near the University of Iowa Sports Medicine Center located at 2701 Prairie Meadow Drive in Iowa City. The event honors the memory of world-renowned orthopedic pioneer and surgeon, Ignacio Ponseti, M.D. Proceeds benefit research and treatment of clubfoot, a genetic disorder that causes the feet to turn inward and downward.
Clubfoot is the most common physical disability in newborns.
