Media Advisory: Mason, Butler and Herky to visit State Capitol Tuesday

WHAT: University of Iowa President Sally Mason, interim Provost Barry Butler and Herky will pay a visit to Iowa legislators as part of Hawkeye Caucus Day at the Iowa State Capitol in Des Moines. The day will also feature display tables with information about UI colleges, programs and organizations.

WHEN: Tuesday, April 5. Legislators, staff and visitors will have an opportunity to have their photos taken with Herky, Mason and Butler between 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 5. Other activities take place between about 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.

WHERE: Photos will be taken in Room 116, just off the rotunda on the first floor of the Capitol.

WHY: The event, organized by the UI Office of Governmental Relations and the "Hawkeye Caucus," a UI advocacy network, is intended to raise awareness about the enormous, positive impact the UI has on the state of Iowa and its citizens.
