Tippie international MBA students to receive degrees July 17

Commencement ceremonies for the first graduating class from the Tippie School of Management’s international MBA program in Italy will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 17, at the Sheraton Hotel in Iowa City.

The 24 graduates completed their coursework through the Consortium Institute for Management and Business Analysis (CIMBA) program that the Tippie College of Business coordinates at its campus in Paderno del Grappa and Asolo, Italy. Fifteen degrees will be awarded to international students, including students from Italy, Jamaica, Canada, Taiwan and India.

The graduates took several field trips to businesses around Iowa in the days leading up to commencement, including Meredith Publishing and Pioneer Hi-Bred in Des Moines and J&P Cycles in Anamosa.

The keynote speaker for Saturday’s commencement will be Marek Hovek, a 1995 CIMBA graduate from the Czech Republic who is now general manager and CEO of Delta Trade, Ltd., a consumer finance company in Vietnam.
