UI’s Marilynne Robinson appears on 'The Daily Show with Jon Stewart'

Pulitzer Prize-winning author and University of Iowa faculty member Marilynne Robinson appeared on “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart” Thursday night to discuss her most recent book, "Absence of Mind," in which she challenges postmodern atheists who crusade against religion under the banner of science.

During her five-minute interview with Stewart, Robinson said she believes the quality of science and religion determines the nature of the conversation about the differences between the two worldviews. Robinson is the author of "Gilead," winner of the 2005 Pulitzer Prize for fiction; and "Home," winner of the 2009 Orange Prize for Fiction. At the UI, she teaches in the Iowa Writers’ Workshop.
