Westercamp named to student grant board

University of Iowa student Jeralyn Westercamp has been named a member of the State Farm Youth Advisory Board that will distribute $5 million in grants to service-learning projects.

She is one of 18 people from across the United States and Canada selected through a competitive process based on youth leadership experience and an interview. State Farm distributes $5 million in grants to student-led service-learning projects at schools across North America. This year, the board awarded grants to youth-led service-learning projects that addressed disaster preparedness, driver safety, financial education, environmental responsibility and access to higher education/closing the achievement gap.

Westercamp, a native of Cedar Rapids, is a student in the Tippie College of Business. Her term lasts one year.
