RiverFest returns to Hubbard Park April 22-25

RiverFest is going back to its roots.

Last year, the festival was moved to downtown Iowa City, but this year’s event is returning to Hubbard Park Thursday, April 22, through Sunday, April 25. This year’s festival features a full lineup of musical and dance performances, a magician, a wide variety of foods, carnival rides, games and more.

RiverFest kicks off with RiverFEAST from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 22, in downtown Iowa City. RiverFEAST features food from Iowa City restaurants and food tickets can be purchased for $1 per ticket.

This year’s musical lineup includes Matt Nathanson (photo right), The Tanks, Maxilla Blue, Bombardier, Slip Silo and many DJs including DJ Arbiter, DJ Delta, DJ Avant Garde, Jack of All Trades, KAGE, Beat Resonance, Electrocity and Mike “All Night” Long. Matt Nathanson tickets can be purchased at University of Iowa Box Office, located in the Iowa Memorial Union (IMU) and all other Ticketmaster locations.

Some groups from the University of Iowa will also perform, including UDO, the Undergraduate Dance Organization (UDO), and the UI Percussion Society. Other local performances include magician and Iowa City native Nate Staniforth and a demonstration from Master Choe’s Iowa City Tae Kwon Do Academy.
