Lone Tree clinic expands hours, adds provider

Leaders with University of Iowa Community Medical Services (UICMS) today announced that UI Family Care-Lone Tree will offer patients more convenience and flexibility by providing extended hours of service beginning Monday, March 16 and by expanding its staff.

Regular clinic hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, and appointments are required. The new extended clinic hours will be from 5-7 p.m. Monday through Friday, and patients will not need an appointment to be seen during those extended hours.

During the extended hours, providers will see patients who have common illnesses and minor injuries. Families and patients can also schedule well-child check-ups and adult physicals by calling the clinic in advance.

The new member of the staff, Ruth McGowan, M.S., PA-C, will see patients of all ages by appointment and during the extended hours.

A 15-member community advisory committee representing a diverse group of citizens, businesses, and organizations from Lone Tree, Hills, Riverside and the surrounding area, recommended the extension of the clinic's hours.

The community advisory group is volunteer-based and provides recommendations on matters such as:

--New and/or expanded services offered by the clinic.
--Patient flow design.
--Community involvement and public relations.
--Interior and exterior design suggestions.
