College of Engineering holds annual Spring Job and Internship Fair Feb. 3
The University of Iowa College of Engineering will hold its annual Spring Job & Internship Fair from 2 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 3, at the Sheraton Hotel in Iowa City.
Some 50 employers are participating in the fair, despite a challenging economic environment. Employers are seeking talented UI students for co-op, internship, and full-time positions in the disciplines of biomedical, chemical, civil, electrical, industrial, and mechanical engineering, as well as computer science. Participating employers are looking for May and December 2009 graduates in addition to students for co-ops and internships during the summer and fall.

Culver to visit radiothon at UI, meet Dance Marathon participants Feb 6
Iowa Governor Chet Culver will visit University of Iowa Children's Hospital in Iowa City at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 6, to learn how UI Dance Marathon supports pediatric cancer patients and their families.
Governor Culver is also planning to visit the broadcast location at the UI of the Fourth Annual Clear Channel "Call for Kids with Cancer" Radiothon.
The 24-hour University of Iowa Dance Marathon at the Iowa Memorial Union begins at 7 p.m. Feb. 6.
In addition, Dance Marathon will hold its first-ever graduation ceremony at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 7, to honor children who completed cancer treatment and have been in remission for at least five years.

Tippie Women in Business to hold speed networking event Feb. 25
The Women in Business group in the University of Iowa's Tippie College of Business will hold a speed networking event at 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 25 in room S401 of the Pappajohn Business Building. Students and professional women will be paired for short conversations that give students the opportunity to improve their presentation and networking skills.
Professional women working in the Iowa City/Cedar Rapids area are especially needed to meet with the students and provide feedback.
