University of Iowa News Digest on hiatus Dec. 21 to Jan. 1
University News Services (UNS) will not publish the University of Iowa News Digest email from Monday, Dec. 21 through Friday, Jan. 1. However, UNS will continue to post news stories to its Web site at http://news.uiowa.edu and distribute news to media, as warranted.
Publication of the UI News Digest will resume on Monday, Jan. 4.
UI's Casko receives Orthodontic Legend Award
John Casko, D.D.S., Ph.D., professor of orthodontics in the University of Iowa College of Dentistry, received the Orthodontic Legend Award at the annual meeting of the Southern Association of Orthodontists held Sept. 23-27 in Hot Springs, Va. The award honors Casko's achievements in orthodontic education through teaching, research and publishing.
Casko is widely recognized for his expertise in developing continuing education courses for dental students, trainees and practitioners.
He is a diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics and editor of Practical Reviews in Orthodontics. Casko also has served as past-president of the American Board of Orthodontics.
Old Capitol Museum closed Dec. 24-Jan. 18
The University of Iowa Old Capitol Museum will be closed Thursday, Dec. 24, through Monday, Jan. 18, for winter break. It will reopen at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 19, and resume regular hours through the rest of January.
The Old Capitol Museum's regular hours are: Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.; Thursdays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Sundays from 1 to 5 p.m.
