Museum series for children concludes with 'Cave Paintings'

The University of Iowa Museum of Natural History's Story-time Explorers series finishes for the year on Sunday, Dec. 20, with children's book readings about "Cave Paintings." The event is free and open to the public and takes place at 2 p.m. in the Biosphere Discovery Hub, located on the third floor of Macbride Hall on the UI Pentacrest.

The stories are geared toward elementary-aged children and their families.  After story-time, visitors will have an opportunity to take a virtual tour of the famous Lascaux cave. In addition, children will have an opportunity to make their own "cave art" to take home.

The University of Iowa Museum of Natural History features three permanent galleries exploring natural history and emerging environmental research in Iowa and beyond. For more information call 319-335-0606 or visit
