UI students recognized at 2009 Hawkeye Leadership Awards
Several leaders in University of Iowa student organizations were recently recognized for their service including (STUDENT'S NAME) of (HOMETOWN).
The Office of Student Life and the University of Iowa Student Government hosted the 2009 Hawkeye Student Organization Leadership & Service Awards banquet on April 4.
These awards recognize students and organizations for their work and efforts over the past year. A team of volunteers served as the judges for all of the Hawkeye Awards.
The following levels of recognition were awarded:
--Unsung Hero: student leaders who may not necessarily be in a leadership position with an organization, but whose "behind-the-scenes" efforts are greatly needed and appreciated.
--Leadership Legacy: students who have left a lasting impression on their student organization, the University of Iowa and the surrounding community.
--Outstanding Student Organization Leader: an individual who demonstrates leadership and hard work toward his or her particular organization.
--Outstanding Contribution to the Greater Community: a leader who is working to improve the greater community.
Along with the student leaders recognized, UI student organizations and clubs, and their advisors were also awarded recognition.
