MBA students to train Iowa City high school students for leadership

Students in the University of Iowa's Tippie MBA program are hosting a leadership seminar for students at Iowa City's two public high schools on Friday, April 10.

About 40 juniors and seniors with leadership potential will participate in a series of workshops that will help them to define a leader, assess their own personality strengths, and manage conflict.

Gale Mote, a Cedar Rapids-based motivational speaker and adjunct lecturer in the Tippie College of Business, will also participate in a team-building exercise.

Activities will be held in Room W401 of the Pappajohn Business Building from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

College of Law sponsors annual Women-in-Law conference

The Organization of Women Law Students and Staff (OWLSS) at the University of Iowa College of Law will hold its annual Women-in-Law conference at the Boyd Law Building on Saturday, April 11. The daylong conference introduces female prospective law students to the law and women who work in a variety of legal fields.

Admission is free and open to the public.

Among this year's speakers are Judge Amanda Potterfield of the Iowa Court of Appeals, and an alumni panel of Iowa City attorney Alison Werner Smith and University of Arkansas law dean Cyndi Nance. UI law professor Angela Onwuachi-Willig will teach a mock law class.
