Women's center offers training for variety of volunteer programs Sept. 22

The Women's Resource and Action Center (WRAC) at the University of Iowa is offering training this fall for its volunteer programs. Beginning on Monday, Sept. 22, with an orientation session from 6 to 9 p.m., new volunteers will be trained in the following areas: as group facilitators to lead support and discussion groups at the center; as members of Iowa Women Initiating Social Change, the center's social activism volunteer program; as leaders for WRAC's Diversity Dialogue Circles; and as participants in WRAC's new Men's Anti-Violence Council. The orientation session will take place at WRAC, 130 N. Madison St., Iowa City, across the street from the Iowa Memorial Union.

Space in these volunteer training programs is limited, and registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration is required, and an application form is available at There is no charge for the training.
