State Farm Insurance grant to help develop Career Leadership Program
The University of Iowa's Pomerantz Career Center has received a $50,000 grant from State Farm Insurance, made through the UI Foundation to develop programs in its Career Leadership Academy this year.
The Good Neighbor Citizenship Grant will help provide students with a chance to explore personal leadership styles and develop employment skills in a variety of settings.
The funding will also assist with student materials, networking events, teambuilding workshops, a mentoring program, etiquette dinners, service learning projects, career search tools, and funding for selected students to attend a national leadership conference.
As part of the grant presentation, Terry Barton, State Farm's vice president of Iowa, will meet with Leadership Academy participants Thursday, Oct. 23.
