Local high school guidance counselor appointed to UI advisory board

(Name), a guidance counselor at (name of high school), was recently appointed on the University of Iowa's Office of Admissions' High School Counselor Advisory Board.

(Last name) is one of 15, select high school counselors on the board, which was formed in 1991 to advise the UI Office of Admissions on various issues related to the college admissions process. The board meets on the UI campus twice a year, in April and September.

"We look forward to working with these counselors and know that they will be effective in helping us make the admissions process easier for students," said Michael Barron, assistant provost for enrollment services and director of Admissions.

The counselors are listed below alphabetically by the name of their high school:

--Rachel Collins, Cedar Rapids Kennedy High School
--John Fitzgerald, Marshalltown High School
--Rich Dutcher, Ogden High School
--Jeff Lucas, Sioux City East High School
--Amy Ryan, West Burlington High School
--Char Paper, Wilton High School
