Regents president Miles thanks flood volunteers
David Miles, president of the Board of Regents, State of Iowa, expresses thanks on behalf of the Board of Regents to the hundreds of volunteers, especially students, who have been working tirelessly to preserve the buildings and operations of the Regent institutions and surrounding communities in the midst of significant flooding threats.
As just one example, students, faculty, staff and concerned Iowans have prepared thousands of sandbags, which are currently providing the additional protection necessary to preserve the integrity of the state facilities on the campuses of the Regent institutions.
This is an invaluable service to the state in this time of great need, and the Board appreciates the ongoing efforts of volunteers as work continues in the coming days.
