Local resident completes computed tomography clinical internship

(NAME) of (CITY) successfully completed the Computed Tomography (CT) Clinical Internship at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City on May 23.

The four-month training program accepts students each fall and spring and is one of several advanced offerings in the Post-Radiologic Technology Education Program.

UI Hospitals and Clinics first offered computed tomography training in 1996. CT is an advanced technology that produces cross-sectional images of targeted parts of the human body using x-rays and computing. This imaging technology provides information on pathological conditions that are difficult to evaluate through conventional radiography alone. CT technologists work in various health care settings, from freestanding mobile clinics and major trauma centers to equipment sales and applications.
