Enjoy live music and food on the IMU River Terrace this summer
Looking for something new to do while in Iowa City this summer? Then come to Iowa Memorial Union (IMU) River Terrace overlooking the Iowa River to enjoy free, live music and grilled food. The University of Iowa community, Iowa City residents and visitors are all invited to come out and relax by the river while enjoying great music and food.
Local soul band The Diplomats of Solid Sound will be playing on the River Terrace June 12, 17, 20, 25, and July 1, 8, 11, 15 and 18. The band will be playing from 11:15 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. and food will be served throughout the performance. Menu items include burgers, bratwurst, hot dogs, chicken, and more.
This event is being sponsored by the IMU, and will take place on the IMU River Terrace on the west side of the building, outside the Hawkeye Room on the ground floor of the IMU. The IMU is located on the corner of Madison and Jefferson streets in Iowa City.
Marengo, Tama wineries hosting 'Wines of Iowa' tours June 11
Fireside Winery in Marengo and John Ernest Winery in Tama will host tours June 11 as part of the summer "Wines of Iowa II" series available through the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at the University of Iowa Center on Aging.
