Patients, visitors told to be aware of First Avenue closure in Coralville
Patients, families and other visitors planning to visit University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City should be aware that road construction is scheduled to close 1st Avenue in Coralville for six days starting Monday, July 28. The CRANDIC Railroad is replacing its railroad crossing on 1st Avenue (near McDonald's) and all traffic lanes in that area will be closed.
Travelers should avoid that stretch of road as well as the 1st Avenue exit (Exit 242) off of I-80 once construction begins.

Fraser announces retirement from Iowa Public Radio
Robin Fraser, development director for Iowa Public Radio (IPR), has announced his retirement as of Friday, August 1.
During his 18-month tenure with IPR, Fraser developed key fundraising strategies, served as a liaison between the listening community and the network, and identified new funding sources to ensure the longevity of the network. Successes under Fraser's management include centralization of the membership division, unification of the underwriting division, and hiring a major gifts officer to work with private donors and long-term gifts.
A national search will be conducted for the new development director. Interim duties will be handled by Linda Jordening, interim underwriting manager; Joan Kjaer, interim membership manager; and Tim Coffee, major gifts officer.
Iowa Public Radio includes WOI-AM and FM at Iowa State University, WSUI-AM and KSUI-FM at the University of Iowa, and KUNI-FM and KHKE-FM at the University of Northern Iowa.
