SCOPE presents Ben Folds in the Iowa Memorial Union Main Lounge

Tickets go on sale today (Friday, Jan. 11) at all Ticketmaster locations for SCOPE Productions' presentation of Ben Folds at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, March 2 in the University of Iowa's Iowa Memorial Union Main Lounge.

Tickets are $28 and are available online or by phone through Ticketmaster, and at the IMU Box Office starting Monday, Jan 21. Cash, check, or credit cards are accepted; UI students can U-bill up to eight tickets on their university IDs.

Folds last visited the UI for 2004's inaugural 10,000 Hours Concert, where he played for more than 600 volunteers. He has made a career of writing catchy, piano-driven tunes wrought with humor and charm. His 2005 album, "Songs for Silverman," and 2006's "Supersunnyspeedgraphic" fueled Folds' song catalogue with fan favorites like "Landed."

Folds first found success with his band Ben Folds Five, a piano trio, producing hits like "Army," "Kate," and 1998's "Brick." Folds started a solo career in 2001 with "Rockin' the Suburbs" and has since released five albums. Apart from his own material, Folds has produced albums for William Shatner and Amanda Palmer of the Dresden Dolls.

Individuals with disabilities are encouraged to attend all UI-sponsored events. If you are a person with a disability who requires an accommodation in order to participate in this program, please call 319-353-5700.
