Chinese students visit UI and ACT in Iowa City Feb. 7 and 8

A group of 30 students from Qingdao, China, will visit the University of Iowa and ACT's corporate headquarters in Iowa City Thursday and Friday, Feb. 7 and 8. The students are part of the ACT Educational Solutions Global Assessment Certificate program. The program is an ACT university preparation program, taught and evaluated in English, which gives international students the skills they need to enroll in and succeed at English-speaking colleges and universities. Students complete the ACT at the conclusion of the program.

The UI is one of the major Pathway Universities for the program and has already enrolled 19 Global Assessment Certificate graduates from China and South Korea. Based upon the graduate's Global Assessement Certificate grade point average and scores on the ACT exam, the UI has granted up to 28 credits, with a scholarship award of up to $11,000. For more information, contact Rebecca Hanson, assistant director of international admissions, UI Admissions, 319-335-1529 or
