Camping for Kids event to benefit UI Children's Hospital
Debbie and Don Reinier of Muscatine will hold their second annual Camping for Kids event Jan. 31 and Feb. 1 at the Wal-Mart store located at 3003 N. Highway 61 in Muscatine.
The 24-hour fundraising event honors the memory of the Reiniers' son, Ben, who lost his battle with cancer on Sept. 2, 2003, at the age of 10. The inaugural event in 2008 raised more than $4,800.
All of the proceeds will benefit University of Iowa Children's Hospital in Iowa City through Children's Miracle Network. The funds will be donated at the UI Dance Marathon celebration Feb. 6-7.
