Brenneman honored by Physician Assistant Education Association
Tony Brenneman, associate director of the University of Iowa Physician Assistant Program, received the Rising Star Award from the Physician Assistant Education Association during the group's annual education forum Oct. 29-Nov. 2 in Savannah, Ga.
The award recognizes an individual who has earned the respect of students and colleagues for excellence in physician assistant education in one or more of the following areas: teaching, research, administration and peer recognition as demonstrated by scholarship and service.
Brenneman is a 1996 graduate of the UI Physician Assistant Program, part of the UI Roy J. and Lucille A. Carver College of Medicine. He joined the program as a faculty member in 2004, initially serving in the role as director of clinical education.
'Writers Gone Public' features undergraduate nonfiction Dec. 10-11
Undergraduate writing students who study with faculty and graduate students in the University of Iowa Nonfiction Writing Program will read from their work in "Writers Gone Public," at 7 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, Dec. 10 and 11, in the Gerber Lounge, Room 304, of the UI English-Philosophy Building.
The readings, each of which will feature a different group of writers, are free and open to the public.
