MEDIA ADVISORY: Linn-Mar High School students to learn about the culture and customs of Taiwan

WHAT: International Programs' International Classroom Journey program

WHO: Si-Chi Chin, a second-year University of Iowa doctoral student in informatics, originally from Taiwan

WHERE: Linn-Mar High School, 3111 North Tenth St., Marion

WHEN: 8:45 to 9:25 a.m. and 9:30 to 10:10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 2

Chin will present to teacher Laura Zmolek-Smith's 9-12 grade class. This is a class of English language learners from various countries, including the Democratic Republic of Congo, Syria, Vietnam, China, Taiwan, Mexico and Germany. The teacher sees this as an opportunity for University of Iowa's international students to serve as good role models for her students and also for the students to learn about other cultures.
