Public tour of UI Women's Health Center set for Sept. 16
A community open house for the new University of Iowa Women's Health Center is planned from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 16, on the third level of the Pomerantz Family Pavilion at UI Hospitals and Clinics, the state's only comprehensive academic health center.
The UI Women's Health Center serves as the hub for women's health and home to obstetrics and gynecology. Using a multidisciplinary approach, UI Women's Health offers access to a women-focused health care team dedicated to providing quality patient care that meets the expectations of the women of today.
Free parking for the open house is available off Hawkins Drive in Hospital Ramps 2 or 4.
Visitors will be able to tour the more than 35,000-gross-square-foot facility, which includes an expanded number of ultrasound rooms, an array of state-of-the-art equipment and an expansive, welcoming reception area. Additional tours are also available of the adjacent internal medicine specialty clinics, bone densitometry, phlebotomy intake and pulmonary and interventional testing areas.
UI Women's Health encompasses a multitude of services, including:

The facility represents the completion of a $39.6 million project that also includes a new Ambulatory Surgery Center, Medicine Specialty Clinics, Dermatology Clinic, Pulmonary Diagnostic and Interventional Services Area, Bone Densitometry and a Phlebotomy Intake Station.
