Engineer nets National Science Foundation grant to develop modeling methods

Er-Wei Bai, professor in the University of Iowa College of Engineering Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, has received a three-year, $239,993 grant from the National Science Foundation (NSF) to develop modeling methods for nontraditional engineering systems and, in particular, bio/biomedical systems.

Bai, who joined the UI faculty in 1987, is an expert in the fields of identification, control, and signal processing and their applications in engineering and life science. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and associate editor and editorial board member of several professional journals.
