UI specialist certified as golf fitness instructor

Karen Drake, a senior physical therapist with the UI Sports Medicine Center and the UI Spine Center at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, has earned a Level I certification as a golf fitness instructor through the Titleist Performance Institute.

Co-founders of the institute Greg Rose and PGA Top 100 Pro David Phillips and their top-tier advisory board of health professionals awarded the certification to Drake.

Drake's certification followed completion of advanced education in golf analysis screening and fitness instruction this past summer and successful completion of a comprehensive certification exam.

The Titleist Performance Institute strives to provide golfers with a "total game learning experience." Their seminars provide the most up-to-date findings related to golf-specific health and fitness from experts in multiple fields. They teach golfers how to recognize and overcome physical limitations that may restrict their potential. The TPI system is now incorporated into the Golf To Your Advantage program offered at UI Hospitals and Clinics.

For more information on improving your golf fitness, contact Karen Drake, certified golf fitness instructor, at Golf To Your Advantage at 319-356-8400.
