Entrepreneur Lecture Series examines licensing and risk management

The Entrepreneurial Ventures Group will look at early stage licensing and risk management of health care entrepreneurial ventures in a lecture with an executive of Wyeth Pharmaceuticals on Wednesday, Nov. 7.

Thomas Argentieri, senior director in the global licensing and business development group at Wyeth, will speak at 4 p.m. in the Carver Biomedical Research Building. Admission is free and open to the public. Those interested in attending should RSVP by visiting or calling 319-335-1022.

Argentieri spent 20 years in neuroscience and cardiovascular drug discovery at Berlex and Wyeth Pharmaceuticals and has spent the last four years in business development at Wyeth focused primarily on early stage licensing opportunities.

He is currently on the editorial advisory board of several scientific journals, including the Journal of Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics. He received his Ph.D. in neuroscience from the University of Medicine & Dentistry in New Jersey in 1983. After a postdoctoral fellowship, he served on the faculty of the Department of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania.
