The Pines, David Stukenberg to perform on 'Java Blend' Oct. 19, 26

The Pines will perform live as part of the Iowa Public Radio performance series "Java Blend," at noon Friday, Oct. 19, and David Stukenberg will play at noon Friday, Oct. 26, both at the Java House, 211 E. Washington St. in downtown Iowa City.

The public is invited to be part of the live audiences for the hour-long shows, which originate from the University of Iowa's radio station WSUI-AM 910.

Composed of Iowa natives David Huckfelt and Benson Ramsey, the Pines combine roots, blues and indie-rock to create their sound. Influenced by folk and blues, the duo craft songs that combine traditional music with newer rock and pop grooves. The performance will be broadcast on Iowa Public Radio Saturday, Nov. 3 and Sunday, Nov. 4.

Wisconsin native David Stukenberg, a singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, is influenced by a multitude of genres and decades. Musical influences such as gospel, Chopin, the Beatles, and Pink Floyd have helped Stukenberg develop his own unique sound. The talented artist's new album is named "Mountain of Pieces." The "Java Blend" performance will be broadcast on Iowa Public Radio Saturday, Nov. 10 and Sunday, Nov. 11.

"Java Blend" broadcast times on WSUI-AM are 7 p.m. Saturdays and 5 p.m. Sundays; check local broadcast times for other Iowa Public Radio stations. To view a full calendar of upcoming "Java Blend" performances and broadcasts, visit and scroll to "Java Blend."
