Students Receive UI College Of Pharmacy Awards
The University of Iowa College of Pharmacy presented awards to 18 students at the college's annual Senior and Alumni Dinner and Awards Banquet May 9 in Iowa City.
Following are the names of the student award recipients and the awards they received:
Pamela Murphy -- APHA-ASP Mortar and Pestle Professionalism Award, presented to a student who exhibits the ideals of professionalism and excellence in patient care.
Dane Shiltz -- College of Pharmacy Faculty Excellence Award, an award given to the senior student with the highest grade-point average.
Heather Arnold -- College of Pharmacy Faculty Award, an award that goes to the student that the second highest grade-point average.
Jaclyn Sprock -- College of Pharmacy Excellence Award.
Nicole Brogden -- College of Pharmacy Excellence in Research Award.
Jon Godden -- College of Pharmacy Excellence in Clinical Practice Award.
Andrew Paulson and Adrianne Peters -- College of Pharmacy Public Health Award, which recognizes pharmacy students who have made significant contributions to public health pharmacy practice.
Carmen Linares -- Dean's Achievement Award, presented to a UI graduating senior who exemplifies, promotes or contributes to cultural, racial or ethnic diversity.
Emily Frauenholtz -- Facts and Comparisons Award, presented to a senior student who is in top 25 percent of his/her class academically and who has demonstrated superior verbal and writing skills.
Meaghan Tredea -- GlaxoSmithKline Patient Care Award, given for demonstrated excellence in patient relations in hospital and community practice.
Molly Pille -- Lilly Achievement Award, given to a senior who has demonstrated exceptional leadership skills.
Amy Lassen and Phyllis Hemerson -- Merck Prize, given to a senior who has attained high scholastic standing and/or committee choice.
Chelsea Hunter -- Mylan Pharmaceuticals Award, presented to a senior who demonstrates high professional motivation and ranks in upper 20 percent of his/her graduating class.
Sara Tierney -- Perrigo Company Award for Excellence in Non-prescription Studies, an award given to a student who has demonstrated excellence in subjects dealing with non-prescription medications.
Ginelle Schmidt -- Roche Pharmacy Communications Award, given to a senior who promotes communications with patients.
Cheryl Ozog -- TEVA Company Award, given to a senior who excels in the study of pharmacy.
