UI Pharmacy Graduate Students Receive Fellowships

Seven graduate students in the University of Iowa College of Pharmacy have been awarded 2007-08 American Foundation for Pharmaceutical Education (AFPE) pre-doctoral fellowships.

The students are David Anderson, Kevin Freise, Amber Goedken, Beth Miskimins, Garrett Rettig, Matthew Schmidt and Kevin Tidgewell.

The AFPE's Pre-Doctoral Fellowship in the Pharmaceutical Sciences program encourages outstanding pre-doctoral students, who have completed at least three semesters of graduate study and have no more than three years remaining, to continue their studies to earn a Ph.D. degree in the pharmaceutical sciences at a U.S. pharmacy school. Each student receives a $6,000 grant. A maximum of 70 fellowships are awarded annually.
