UI Youth Ballet And Dance Forum Present Spring Concert May 19 And 20

The University of Iowa Youth Ballet and Dance Forum, community programs of the UI Dance Department, will present their Spring Concert at 8 p.m. Saturday, May 19, and 3 p.m. Sunday, May 20, in the Space/Place Theatre of UI North Hall.

The Youth Ballet's mission is to provide committed students the professional-level training that will equip them for a future in dance. Dance Forum's mission is to provide the highest quality dance education in a setting that is developmentally appropriate and artistically stimulating.

Both the Youth Ballet program and Dance Forum offer year-round classes for children through adults in all levels of ballet. The programs also offer modern dance, body conditioning, creative movement, summer ballet camps and ballet-intensive classes for intermediate to advanced students. Throughout the year they sponsor master classes taught by a variety of guest artists.

Tickets are $12 (students $6; free admission for children under 12) and may be purchased in advance from the University Box Office in the Iowa Memorial Union. In addition to window sales at the IMU, the University Box Office may be reached by phone at 319-335-3041 or toll-free 800-346-4401. The fax number is 319-335-3407. Hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 5-9 p.m. Sunday. In addition to cash and checks, the University Box Office accepts MasterCard, Visa, American Express and Discover cards.

Any remaining tickets will be on sale at the door.

North Hall is located at the north end of Madison Street on the UI campus. It is accessible from both Madison Street and the Anne Cleary Walk. Parking is available in the North Campus Parking Ramp.

The Dance Department is a unit of the Division of Performing Arts in the UI College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.
