Lenten Images Presented At 'Finding God At Iowa' Forum

At the next "Finding God at Iowa" Lunch Forum, Nicholas Rossi, emeritus professor of surgery at the University of Iowa Roy J. and Lucille A. Carver College of Medicine, will give a presentation of Renaissance art depicting the passion of Jesus. The talk, "Lenten Images," will be held from noon to 1 p.m. on Friday, April 6, in River Room 1, near the cafeteria on the first floor of the Iowa Memorial Union.

The talk is part of the Finding God at Iowa Lunch Forum series that meets on the first Friday of every month during the regular school year. Christian faculty, staff, and students speak on how their faith shapes their lives, their work, and their perspectives on university and social issues. The series is sponsored by Geneva Campus Ministry.

"The April forum happens to fall on Good Friday, the day on which Christians commemorate the crucifixion of Jesus," says Ed Laarman, director of Geneva Campus Ministry. "We wanted something appropriate for this solemn day of the Christian calendar. The images offered by Rossi promise to stimulate both insight into this historical period and spiritual reflection."
