Deadline For CHEEC Seed Grant Submission Is April 2

The deadline for submitting seed grant proposals to University of Iowa Center for Health Effects of Environmental Contamination (CHEEC) is Monday, April 2.

CHEEC seed grants are intended for pilot studies that stimulate the growth and development of innovative lines of environmental health research. The program seeks to fulfill the education and research missions of Iowa colleges and universities by promoting the involvement of students in research activities. Faculty of public or private colleges or universities in Iowa, as well as researchers and educators affiliated with state environmental or health agencies, are encouraged to apply.

A total of $60,000 is available for research projects during this grant cycle. The maximum award is $30,000 annually. The awards cover one year.

CHEEC supports and conducts environmental health research relating to environmental toxins. Its mission is to determine the levels of environmental contamination specifically associated with human health effects.
