MEDIA ADVISORY: Media Encouraged To Arrive Early For Forums

News media covering the public forums for the University of Iowa presidential search finalists are strongly encouraged to arrive early to ensure that they can gain entry to the Old Capitol Museum's Senate Chamber. Under the Iowa City fire code, only 150 people may be in the room at one time. Once maximum occupancy is met, visitors -- including news media -- will be turned away.

Doors to the Senate Chamber for the remaining three forums will open up at 3 p.m., 45 minutes before they begin. Forums are scheduled for today, Tuesday, June 12 for Mark P. Becker, executive vice president for academic affairs, provost and professor of statistics at the University of South Carolina; Thursday, June 14 for Sally Mason, provost and professor of biology at Purdue University; and Friday, June 15 for Charles Bantz, vice president of Indiana University and chancellor of Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis.
