UI Graduate Student Wins Industrial Engineering Fellowship

David Neyens of Dubuque, a student in the University of Iowa Graduate College and doctoral candidate in the UI College of Engineering Department of Industrial Engineering, has received the Gilbreth Memorial Fellowship from the Institute of Industrial Engineers (IIE).

The fellowship provides money for tuition and other expenses and is valued at about $2,000. Neyens earned his Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in industrial engineering from the UI College of Engineering, and he served as IIE chapter president and vice president while an undergraduate student. His advisor is Linda Ng Boyle, assistant professor of mechanical and industrial engineering.

IIE is the world's largest professional society dedicated solely to the support of the industrial engineering profession and individuals involved with improving quality and productivity.
