The Cedar Rapids band, Homemade Headtrip, will perform live at noon on Friday, March 2, at the Java House, located at 211 E. Washington St. in downtown Iowa City. "Happy Street" is the title of the group's new CD.

Hosted by Ben Kieffer, "Java Blend" originates from University of Iowa radio station WSUI AM 910. The program offers an eclectic mix of live music from the vibrant independent music scene, featuring artists from around the state and around the country. Kieffer infuses the performances with lively chats to find out about the artists' music and lives.

The hour will be broadcast at a later date on Iowa Public Radio stations across the state: KUNI Cedar Falls/Waterloo/Cedar Rapids/Iowa City; KUNY/KRNI Mason City; KDMR Des Moines; KDUB Dubuque; WSUI Iowa City/Cedar Rapids; WOI Ames/Des Moines; KTPR Fort Dodge; KOWI Lamoni; and KWOI Carroll.
