College Of Engineering Holds Annual Spring Job And Internship Fair Feb. 8

The College of Engineering will hold its third annual Spring Job and Internship Fair from 2-6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 8, at the Sheraton Hotel in Iowa City.

Organizers say the 2007 spring fair will be the largest in the activity's three-year history as representatives of 65 companies and organizations are scheduled to attend. They emphasize that the fair is not just for undergraduate engineering students. All undergraduate and graduate students -- as well as faculty and alumni -- in engineering, computer science and physics are urged to attend.

They add that the large number of exhibitors at the spring 2007 fair is an indicator of the excellent condition of the engineering job market.

"We have 18 new companies attending the spring engineering fair, in addition to 47 returning organizations," says Phil Jordan, director of Engineering Professional Development. "Many of these companies are looking for May and December 2007 graduates and alumni for employment, as well as current students for 2007-08 co-ops and internships. The market for engineering talent, while still competitive, heavily favors the job seeker."

The spring job and internship fair is an opportunity for students and alumni to learn more about companies and agencies seeking full-time employees, co-ops and interns for their organizations. For a complete directory of participating companies and organizations, majors they are interested in interviewing, and paragraph descriptions with links to their Web pages, see:
