UI Museum of Art announces reduced holidays hours and January closing
The University of Iowa Museum of Art (UIMA) will be open reduced hours Dec. 27 and 28, and will be closed during part of January for the installation of a major traveling exhibition.
The museum will close early on Thursday and Friday, Dec. 27 and 28, at 5 p.m. rather than the usual 9 p.m. closing time.
The museum will resume its regular hours Saturday, Dec. 29, through Sunday Jan. 6: closed Monday and Tuesday; open noon to 5 p.m. Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday, and noon to 9 p.m. Thursday and Friday. These hours also apply Christmas week through Wednesday, Dec. 26.
At the end of the day on Sunday, Jan. 6, the museum will close for the installation of "VOOM Portraits Robert Wilson," an exhibition of more than 50 high-definition video portraits by avant-garde artist Robert Wilson. That exhibition will reopen the museum on Saturday, Feb. 2. Regular hours will then continue through the spring semester.
The UI Museum of Art is located on North Riverside Drive in Iowa City. Admission is free. Public metered parking is available in UI parking lots west and north of the museum.
