UI police investigate third bomb threat in three days

University of Iowa Police continue to urge faculty, staff, students and visitors to be on the alert for suspicious items following the third bomb threat in three days sent to a university e-mail address.

The latest threat was received at a generic e-mail address in the Office of Admissions in Calvin Hall. Although the threat did not mention any specific time or location, UI police officers conducted a search of the exterior and interior of Calvin Hall and found nothing suspicious.

In addition, UI Police have contacted other local, state and federal law enforcement agencies to share information on all of the recent bomb threats and will continue to work with those agencies.

Police advise anyone who finds a suspicious item on campus to stay away from it, leave the area and call 911 immediately. Anyone with information that may assist in this investigation is encouraged to call the UI Police at 319-335-5022.
