UI Center On Aging To Host Celebration Of Older Americans May 3

The University of Iowa Center on Aging will host an informal "refreshment break" from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, May 3, in the first-floor atrium of the Medical Education and Research Facility (MERF).

Attendees can learn about new ways the center is engaging older adults in leadership, education and research. UI Center on Aging staff members will be available to discuss the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at the UI, the Seniors Together in Aging Research (STAR) Registry, emerging service models for livable communities, interdisciplinary training opportunities for students and more. Refreshments and resource materials on various topics will be available.

"May is national Older Americans Month," said Lori Benz with the Center on Aging. "With this event we hope to share information with the university and local community while celebrating the vitality and continuing contributions of older Americans."
