Iowa Roots Music Featured On Iowa Public Radio's 'Java Blend' Show April 27

Scott Cochran and Flannel will perform live at noon Friday, April 27 for Iowa Public Radio's "Java Blend" program.

The public is invited to be part of the live audience at the Java House, at 211 E. Washington St. in downtown Iowa City. The hour-long show originating from the University of Iowa's radio station WSUI-AM 910 will be broadcast at a later date on Iowa Public Radio stations across the state.

Scott Cochran and Flannel is an eastern Iowa based country-rock band specializing in what they describe as "genuine corn-fed cosmic Iowa roots music." The Riverside based band blends acoustic and electric guitars with harmonies mixed with solid drum and bass lines.

Hosted by Ben Kieffer, "Java Blend" offers an eclectic mix of live music from the vibrant independent music scene, featuring artists from around the state and around the country. The show combines performances with lively discussion about the artists' music and lives.

The program will also be videotaped for the UITV cable channel in the Iowa City and Cedar Rapids area. The audio version also can be heard on the Internet via Iowa Public Radio stations' live Webcasting.
