MEDIA ADVISORY: Credentials Needed To Cover Jimmy Carter Speech April 18

Credentials will be required for media covering former U.S. President Jimmy Carter's speech at the University of Iowa Wednesday, April 18 in Carver Hawkeye Arena. Doors will open at 5 p.m.; the speech will begin at 7 p.m.

Media representatives interested in covering Carter's speech should contact George McCrory in the University News Services Office at 319-384-0012 or by noon Tuesday, April 17 to be placed on a credentialed media list. UNS will gather the names of all reporters, photographers and videographers who plan to cover the event from each organization in advance, as all media representatives who seek to attend must undergo a credential check.

No press availability before or after the speech is planned. Flash photography will be allowed only during the first three minutes of the speech.

Starting at 5 p.m., media will check in at the north entrance to Carver Hawkeye to receive a pass. Seating for media will be available in a designated section of the arena, with risers for TV cameras and still photography. TV crews are advised to arrive early to allow time for setup.
