Sept. 27, 2007 NOTE: Click on thumbnail image for high resolution (300 dpi) version Presentation on the science of aging set for Oct. 10 in Des Moines The University of Iowa Alumni Association and the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute will host a public presentation on current research on the aging process at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 10, at the Des Moines Botanical Center, 909 Robert D. Ray Drive in Des Moines. The presentation, "A 'Radical' View of the Science of Aging," will be preceded by a reception beginning at 6:30 p.m. Participants should RSVP by Monday, Oct. 8, to the UI Alumni Association online at http://www.iowalum.com/lifelonglearning/schedule.html or by calling 800-469-2586. The event is free for UI Alumni Association members and $5 (to be collected at event) for nonmembers.
Kregel, a UI alumnus, joined the CLAS faculty in 1993. He holds a secondary academic appointment in the Free Radical and Radiation Biology Program in the UI Roy J. and Lucille A. Carver College of Medicine Department of Radiation Oncology. The Oct. 10 event is part of the Lifelong Learning series sponsored by the UI Alumni Association and developed in partnership with UI colleges and departments. The series features UI faculty and staff who share their expertise with alumni and friends of the university at events held in cities across Iowa.
