UI community urged to keep eye on winter weather

Nov. 30, 2007

The National Weather Service on Friday issued a winter storm watch for most of Iowa, including Johnson County, that indicates the possibility of "significant snow and ice accumulations" Saturday that could seriously impact travel.

University of Iowa faculty, staff and students unfamiliar with the campus weather policy are encouraged to read the Extreme Weather Protocol found in the Operations Manual at http://www.uiowa.edu/~our/opmanual/ii/22.htm

More information on how the UI campus copes with winter weather is available in an article that ran in the Jan. 16, 2007 edition of "fyi," the UI's faculty and staff online newspaper. The article is available at http://www.uiowa.edu/~fyi/issues/issues2006_v43/01162007/feature1.html
