Donor Memorial And Healing Garden To Be On Garden Tour

The 2007 Project GREEN Garden Tour from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, July 8, will include, for the first time, the Iowa Lions Donor Memorial and Healing Garden, located near the main entrance on the west side of University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

The Iowa Lions Donor Memorial and Healing Garden is one of the seven sites on the annual Garden Tour. Parking will be available near the location free of charge. Staff and volunteers will be on hand to assist attendees of the event.

Lions Club members across Iowa supported the construction of the state's largest Donor Memorial and Healing Garden in honor of organ and tissue donors. The Healing Garden was dedicated on Oct. 10, 2005. The project was funded by private donations from Iowa Lions Club members and fundraising efforts of the Iowa Lions Foundation.

More information about the Project GREEN 2007 Garden Tour is available online at http://www.projectgreen.org.
