Applications For Oct. 6 Homecoming Parade Are Now Available

Applications for the University of Iowa Homecoming 2006 parade are now available for pick up at Hy-Vee locations in Iowa City and Coralville, the Iowa City and Coralville public libraries, and on campus at the University Box Office and the Office of Student Life. They are also available online at http://uiowa.edu/~hmcoming.

Parade applications will be accepted no later than Tuesday, Sept. 26. The parade will step off at 5:45 pm Friday, Oct. 6.

Parade Grand Marshall and Honored Guest Jim Zabel, longtime voice of the Hawks and WHO radio personality in Des Moines, will be in attendance. Other guests featured in the parade include the 2006 Homecoming Court, the Hawkeye Marching Band, Spirit Squad and various local businesses.

Please note Iowa City streets will be closing early on Friday, Oct. 6, to accommodate the parade route and staging areas. For more information on street closing times and parade application locations, please contact Karrie Kalemba, parade director, at the UI Homecoming office at 319-335-3250.
