Pharmacy Graduate Student To Receive AAPS Fellowship

Ira Buckner, a graduate student in the University of Iowa College of Pharmacy, has been selected to receive an American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS) predoctoral fellowship in the pharmaceutical sciences.

The award will be presented at the AAPS 2006 Annual Meeting and Exposition Oct. 29 in San Antonio. The fellowship is given to students who show outstanding promise in a predoctoral graduate program.

Buckner has been the recipient of several awards and fellowships including the UI College of Pharmacy's Keith Guillory Pharmaceutics Graduate Fellowship and a UI Presidential Graduate Fellowship.

AAPS is a professional scientific society of 13,000 members employed in academia, industry, government and other research institutes worldwide. AAPS offers timely scientific programs, ongoing education, information resources and opportunities for networking and professional development.
